ArcGIS 10.1 for Desktop Functionality Matrix. Mapping ArcGIS® for Desktop allows you to analyze your data and author geographic knowledge to examine relationships; test predictions; and, ultimately, make better decisions. It is available in three license levels—Basic, Standard, and Advanced (formerly ArcView®, ArcEditor™, and ArcInfo®, respectively). These license levels have the same integrated applications, user interfaces, and development environment. Each successive level—Basic to Standard to Advanced—provides additional GIS functionality.
